Once again, we meet Sophie who is intrigued by the beauty and form of synchronized swimming while attending her cousin Gilly’s swim meet. Although unable to hear the music because she is deaf, Sophie challenges herself and others who have doubts about her fitting in. Gilly’s steadfast support of Sophie combined with Sophie’s determination, lead to success and acceptance not only in the pool. Gilly’s friends learn to embrace Sophie’s individuality with a newfound awareness of how the challenges of others can change them as well.
